Definitely, Maybe (2008)

A lesson in the love. Romantic Comedies are films with light-hearted, humorous plotlines, centered on romantic ideals such as a true love able to surmount most obstacles. This romantic comedy portrays one child's dream of knowing how her father had landed her mother after her elementary class takes a crash course in sex education. Will Hayes played by Ryan Reynolds a 30 odd something dad from Manhattan is in the core of a divorce when his 10 year old daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), starts to question him about his life before his now ending marriage. His pride and joy, his little girl wants to know everything about his growing up years or at least how her parents met and fell into love.
The flashbacks of his former flames start in 1992, when Will, an aspiring politician, moves away from his home town, college and former flame Emily starred by Elizabeth Banks. Will moves to the big city of New York to work on the most famous campaign of his life, the Clinton campaign. Will becomes involved with many women through out his life, where they enter his world some how leave and take a small piece along with them, ruining what he had, and re entering only to cause more havoc than good. Though the story is real, Will changes the names of the women so that his daughter has to guess which way he actually met her mother. This leaves a sort of fairy tale ending to the little girls dying dream. Summer Hartley played by Rachel Weisz an up and coming journalist and another women April played by Isla Fisher who does all of the copying and paper word for the campaign are just a few of the women portrayed in Will's love life.
When April and Will have a meeting outside of work for the first time he expresses his concern of asking Emily to marry him before he moved. The words he uses takes April to a new level and she replies with the sly remark of "Definitely, maybe". Once at Aprils apartment Will is taken aback her massive collection of Jane Eyre, she than explains that her father had given her a copy with inscription in the front right before his death and that the book was later lost after she just forgot about it. As a way to try and get the love of her dad back she went around buying copies of the book to try and find the one that was forever lost.
Will than moves on to another girl who is known to his daughter as Summer. They get together only for April to come back after going on a trip to find herself. April comes back to tell Will she loves him just as he is ready to propose to Summer. Will ends the need to propose to Summer when she writes an article about his clients which loses him a major profit and a ton of clients.
Definitely, Maybe is a very captivating love story of how thinking you have found the one may not actually be the one you are destined to be with. In the end Will has to pick which one of the women he has been so in love with once or twice and if they are going to be the right one for him. This movie sets the guideline for romantic comedies and the amount of love that may come out of one child's desire to know everything about her mother and father and why their marriage of so many years has ended. This movie stereotypes love in the best generalized way. The movie and the trailer are a captivating story that every young love and relationship can bare to watch together.

My first post!

I am not sure what to write in my first blog, so here it goes. I am Danyl (pronounced Danielle) but most people get it wrong. I am 19 and live in Ortonville with my fiancĂ© and our dog. I am interested in running and reading and other than that I am a pretty normal, well as normal can get kind of person. I am planning a May wedding which is starting to become a hassle and a little bit of a head ache. I mean do not get me wrong, I love my fiancĂ©'s family to death but nothing I ever do and or want for MY wedding ever seems good enough for them. Every girl dreams of her big day from the start and I just do not understand how they are trying to give me some one else's day. I say they are trying to give me some one else's day because nothing I want they want and nothing they want I want. Seeings as I do not know much about weddings and everyone else I know and or have had any real communication with which was the kids in my high school who are still partying and doing who only knows what, I would love anyones input on everything in my wedding. I have also used the website http://www.weddingdetails.com/ to help me in the guiding of where I should go from where I am. My engagement ring is a diamond surrounded by two garnet, this being because his birthday is in January and mine being in April so his color is surrounding mine. His ring is the complete opposite so we figured for the wedding we would do a deep red and a creamish and or odd white color. Any help is greatly appreciated and as I go on planning the wedding I would love to hear from all of you who have had a wedding or who just know a little something about anything. Thank you all so much!!
